COVID-19 Vaccine

The OKC-County Health Department (OCCHD) is currently deploying COVID-19 vaccine teams throughout Oklahoma County. OCCHD is finding that smaller community clinics are being well received because they are more intimate and less scary for those community members who are hesitant about the COVID-19 vaccine and might have a lot of questions.

OCCHD and the Metropolitan Library System will partner once again this May (clinics were held at various Metro locations this past October) to bring small scale COVID-19 vaccine clinics to community members throughout OK County at six of our library locations.

Libraries are innovative community centers, and throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, they have been essential to the community and national response. In addition to continuing to provide our community with curbside services and virtual programs, the Metropolitan Library System has provided families with free meals, are sharing our collections with socially isolated community members, and will continue to serve as a COVID-19 vaccination locations.

With deep knowledge of the specific needs of our community, the Metropolitan Library System serves as a critical grassroots partner in building vaccine confidence and defeating COVID-19 in Oklahoma County.
