Program Description

Event Description

Calling all young storytellers to this exciting new event at the library! If you have a story to tell, submit a brief summary and a sample page including text and illustrations to the Children's Desk by December 10th. Our selection committee will invite the top fifteen writers to a nine-week workshop, where they will receive the guidance and support to bring their story to life. At the end of this program, their stories will be published through the Metropolitan Library System and added to the local library's collection, where they will be made available for circulation to the entire library system. If you have a young storyteller at home, they won't want to miss this opportunity to share their stories with the world.

This program is open to children in grades 2nd through 6th ONLY. Candidates for admission must submit their summary and single page; registration will be completed by staff for the children whose stories are selected for development.
