Program Description

Event Description

Calling all young storytellers to our second annual Young Storytellers Workshop at the library! If you have a story to tell, pick up a set of submission guidelines from the Children's desk and submit the draft of your tale to us by December 15th. Our selection committee will invite the top twelve writers to a ten-week workshop, where they will receive the guidance and support to bring their story to life. At the end of this program, their stories will be published through the Metropolitan Library System and added to the local library's collection, where they will be made available for circulation to the entire library system. If you have a young storyteller at home, they won't want to miss this opportunity to share their stories with the world.

This program is open to children in grades 2nd through 8th ONLY. Candidates for admission must submit their full story draft and meet all submission guidelines. Young Storytellers is accepting picture book (fiction) and short story drafts. Registration will be completed by staff for the children whose stories are selected for development.
