Enjoy good company and find out what's happening at your local library.  Come for coffee and crafts on the first Wednesday of the month.  We provide the place, the coffee and the materials.

Calling all young readers! Join us as we discover new books, play games, make crafts, and more! Books clubs are an excellent way for children to develop language and conversation skills, solve problems, and make new friends.

Have Fun Designing a Tile Coaster! 

Choose your own colors and shapes of tile from an assortment. Then create your own design to fit the square tile base.

Bring your own project and materials and knit, crochet, or sew your way through the afternoon with members of the community who share your enthusiasm for crafts. All types of fiber arts welcome!

Calling all filmmakers and animators, ages 9 to 99! Make your own stop-motion or 2D animated movie and show it at our premiere in this 3-part series! Use your smart phone or our equipment to create something on the theme.

Learn about "one of the first nationally recognized African American artists," Jacob Lawrence and share in his love for The Library by creating your own version of a Metropolitan Library System library card.

We love dinosaurs! Each month we'll learn about a different dinosaur, read a story, and work on a craft together.

Do you enjoy DIY projects? If so, join us at the Choctaw Library where you will create your own fairy lanterns!

Teens, join us and learn acrylic painting techniques! This month, we will be painting a rolling Tuscan Landscape. You will leave with a completed painting.

Downtown Crochet & Knit Club!

Learning about other cultures helps children develop a sense of empathy and possibility. Join us Downtown each month as we explore a new country, using arts and crafts, hands-on activities, and most importantly our imaginations!

Join our Artsy Fartsy program for teens at the library! Each session starts with a quick intro to a featured artist, followed by time for you to create your own artwork using provided supplies.

Join us for an amazing race throughout the stacks of the library! Complete challenges in teams of two to four from creating lollipop ghosts to reciting limericks!

Be a part of history!

Teens, join us on the first Thursday of every month for Anime Club! We'll start off with a Japanese-inspired craft and then watch three episodes of a popular anime.

Come and discover one of the many ways that you can express yourself through wood burning.  You will be using a hand held wood burner to put your own design on a bookmark.

Blast off with your imagination at the Ralph Ellison library as we kick off the new Lego Club. Lego dreamers of all ages and experience levels welcome.​
