Route 66 History Traveling Displays
Don't miss the traveling exhibit at library locations throughout the year!
The display explores Oklahoma's role in shaping Route 66 through innovation and community. Panels feature subjects from the rise of standardized fast food like Chicken in the Rough to influential figures such as the "Father of Route 66" Cyrus Avery. You'll also learn about the historic Threatt Family Filling Station and the 1928 "Bunion Derby."

Join us for a special May LEGO program packed with color, creativity, and fun! Celebrate Oklahoma history on Route 66 by building cars, roadside attractions—or invent your own twist.
Neon Signs ruled the Mother Road after their widespread adoption in the 1930s. In this kit, you’ll learn the history of neon signs, how they work, and get the chance to make your own faux neon sign by layering varying shades of paint.
