Route 66 History Traveling Displays
Don't miss the traveling exhibit at library locations throughout the year!
The display explores Oklahoma's role in shaping Route 66 through innovation and community. Panels feature subjects from the rise of standardized fast food like Chicken in the Rough to influential figures such as the "Father of Route 66" Cyrus Avery. You'll also learn about the historic Threatt Family Filling Station and the 1928 "Bunion Derby."

Participants of all ages will paint Route 66 inspired scenes while enjoying a classic glass bottle soda. Please join us for this relaxed, creative program for the whole family.
Learn about the diverse biomes of Oklahoma along the scenic Route 66. From tallgrass prairies and cross timber forests to the shortgrass plains of the panhandle, discover the native plants that define these landscapes.
Join us as we celebrate 100 years of America's Mother Road with this special painting workshop. Artist Mary Molander will help you capture the iconic beauty of Route 66 as it stretches toward a vibrant sunset.
