Event Description
Stomata Printing: Microscope Investigation
Do plants have “mouths”? Join us this month as we explore that question using microscopes to take a closer look at leaves and other fascinating specimens. Participants will learn how to create their own leaf slide using fingernail polish and tape, discover how plants exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide, and examine prepared slides of flowers, insects, and more. In honor of Women’s History Month, we’ll also highlight pioneering women scientists who made important contributions to microscopy and other scientific fields.
